The Saintly Cycle 2002

PICTURES FROM OUR ANNIVERSARY FUND-RAISING CYCLE RUN

In one week 6 cyclists cycled 276 miles from the Isle of Whithorn in Wigtownshire where Christianity first touched Scotland home to Cairneyhill in Fife visiting sites in Ayrshire, Bute, Argyll, Loch Lomond and Fife associated with the early Celtic saints. Ninian, Columba, Blane, Adamnán, Munn, Kessóg, Fillan and Kentigern were included and we found more along the way. The proceeds of the sponsorhip and donation monies totalling more than £5,000 were divided 40:20:20:20 between Cairneyhill Church and three charities – Downs Syndrome Scotland and the Children’s Heart Fund Unit, both chosen because of direct links within the congregation and Open Door Fife, which helps the homeless.
