With its origins in 2000 when the Minister and Session Clerk took part in the DARE Trek & Ride in Turkey to raise funds for a Christian Youth Worker for Dunfermline schools, and following on the Saintly Cycle described separately, the cycling club took root in 2003 and has run a regular programme of half day, whole day and 'staying-away' cycle outings ever since. Both within Fife and in locations like Arran, Loch Katrine, Beauly and Kelso C4 outings have been enjoyed by our 'not-too-serious' cyclists. In 2005 the ultimate challenge of a camping and cycling tour of the Western Isles without vehicular support was successfully concluded, but most of our trips are far less onerous with coffee and cakes playing a key role.
